The engagement ring is a meaningful item of personal adornment that has its place at any phase in one’s life. Take this project. The customer had been married already for twenty seven years but she wanted to freshen up her existing diamond solitaire engagement ring and celebrate her lasting marriage. The diamond was about half a carat or .50ct, so the use of a very delicate halo really made the center stone look larger and brighter. The halo is here to stay for this very reason. By surrounding a stone with the same colored gem you make the center stone appear larger and brighter. Also the use of platinum really pleased the customer. Not only is the price comparable to 18 karat, platinum has really unique properties in that it is heavier, really white, and it does not wear away at the same rate as gold.

As you can see above, the ring looks really good with the addition of the hallo. We used the customer’s existing larger than usual shoulder stones also, so visually the halo practically disappears. It also disappears because we did not want to overdo it, so we chose small diamonds for it. Essentially the larger stones stand out, and aesthetically the new ring looks larger, brighter and more important.

As always we like to give our customers a unique engagement ring in Santa Barbara. The side view pictured above, has a fairly large diamond. The design has simple clean lines, elegant arcs, not fussy, making the engagement ring delicately feminine. The top and side views really pleased our customer.

CAD Renders are a beautiful thing. The computer generates really sharp detail, the ability to show many views, really making it a useful tool to visualize the final outcome. It is time consuming to make a a render but well worth the cost.

We included this render above to illustrate how an existing wedding band can work with the new engagement ring. It is all about precise measurements. We put the dimensions of her wedding band into a CAD ring, so that we could nest it up to the existing CAD engagement ring and see if we needed to make any adjustments. They fit perfectly!
